Looking back… memories of Townsville

Townsville images

As part of Adult Learners’ Week 2009, CityLibraries hosted a series of workshops aimed at providing residents with the opportunity to preserve their memories of life in Townsville.  Participants were able to learn new skills with new technologies and uploaded their stories to this wiki.  More about the project...

The following stories have been written and uploaded so far....

Townsville at War by John Hall

Townsville Squash Centre by Lionel French

A Ross Island 'Mud Picker' by Norman Timms

Cyclone Althea - December 1971 by Jane Flynn

Railway Estate by Gaydon Mathews

The Strand by Margaret Pearce

From civilian POW in Manila to Townsville in 1945 by George Heys

We will continue to add more stories as we build on this project.
